The Unforgettable Tango Dancers
San Telmo, Buenos Aires - Argentina
In 2004 I was visiting my family in Argentina. It was then when my grandfather gave me his 1975 35mm Canon AE-1. In excitement, I explored the streets of the oldest suburbs in Buenos Aires, photographing anything in sight!
This young busking couple danced the Tango with amazing passion and talent on the cobbled stone streets of San Telmo. You could feel they were doing what they loved, even if for them it was trying to get a little bit of extra money to pay the bills.
It was so touching to see their divine focus with each other. They did not get distracted despite the difficulty of dancing on the broken stones. Take note of the broken heals, both of them looked so genuine… I admire this quality and since that moment I have strived to embrace integrity and focus. I went back to BA in 2006 and 2010, but sadly I was not able to find the same couple or at least the same passion I did that day.
